In my opinion, is album was 10 years too late. This was the album people wanted in 2001, not 2011. She did a great job with this,Very sad.

Yep TISL was exactly what was needed in '01. It was a necessary life milestone that paved the way for In Your Dreams which I agree we should have had in '05

I wonder if her recording an new CD and having it out before the end of 2012...  will have an effect on a new FM CD and / or a tour... and how there gonna deal with it.

She waited far too long to release IYD and the world has lost interest and moved on, to a great extent. She says she did not release anything during the 2000s because of advice she received, but I think she could have found a way to write, record, and release music. Now she has milked the oldies tour thing to the max (even a lifelong fan like me couldn't have been bothered to buy CV or Soundstage/Live in Chicago - same for several buddies who are minor fans but ignored the endless retrospectives too) and has to get Dave Stewart to write the music to practically every song on her new album. I love IYD and Stevie but man, if you are an artist then act like one, Lady.

I really feel like she could produce her own albums... as long as she has been around a studio... and whatnot.. maybe not the computer producing but maybe the old way?  Maybe she is just one of those people who isn't happy when she does something on her own... like she feels as if she needs someone to help her with everything?

I really dont get the "poor Stevie" thing at all?! We got a NEW CD, yes we had to wait along time, to me it was SO worth it, one of her best ever! Some of the best reviews of her career were from IYD! She had a incredible time recording it, and finally got out on tour with several new songs, which many of us have wanted for the past decade! Sales have gone done for every artist out there! She still charted higher then Heart, Benatar, or any other 70-80's woman rocker out there? I just hope it fuels her to get back in the studio and keep going with another solo CD SOON!  winky  Nothing "poor" about it to me? winky

Well to be fair and honest ... IYD likely wouldn't have done any better in 2001 than TISL did. I would have loved to have gotten new music throughout 2002-2010 but she chose not to. As much as I love her, she had her time in the spotlight and will never get back to that. I think she's accepted that. So let's enjoy what she does share with us. I'm certain she's not sitting at home crying that it didn't sell 1,000,000.

I think as she said about IYD, that it was the first time she really enjoyed making an album..
I'll quote her: "I've always tried to have fun making records with Fleetwood Mac and with my solo ones. I didn't succeed very often though certainly the music did. But this time it was perfection. It was everything I always wished making a record would be. We laughed all the time....there was never a harsh word or a raised voice." I think what she's talking about with the raised voice is working with FM. I don't know why her solo albums weren't fun to make, unless she means the leaving of Jimmy, etc. But Waddy was always there, wasn't he? Also, I think of when she had her talk with Tom Petty where she asked him to write her songs. I think her confidence level isn't as high when she's by herself. Sheryl Crow had to help her with TIS. I think she's always had help, whatever the album. But more than this, I think her songs themselves are what stops her. Some of them she wrote at sad times in her life and maybe she doesn't want to hear them for that reason. The Suffering Stevie songs. When I heard that she kept her vault in Arizona...and not in LA...that told me a lot right there. Then she went on You Tube to find her songs! I think she has separated herself from her art. Also, she has always needed Lori and Sharon to support her...

I think Anna is right, Stevie has seemed to cling to someone to help her with her solo work, and I think the results have been uneven, to put it kindly. I always see Stevie solo as a combination of squandered talents, misguided decisions, and hit-or-miss brilliance.

OK . Would it have been the same without Dave Stewart ?
