I haven't read for leisure in a long time. Its always textbooks. So this winter break, I decided to start reading again. This past fall, I got into a show called Legend of the Seeker. Its a fantasy type show with magic set in old times (think Xena, Hercules and Lord of the Rings).

Anyway, I paid attention to the credits one time and found out it was based on a series of books by Terry Goodkind called Sword of Truth series. I just finished the first book: Wizards First Rule. That thing is HUGE! Bigger than my wrist. Normally, I wouldn't read this type of book but the show got me into it.

I just started the 2nd book called Stone of Tears.

What are you reading?

I'm getting ready to read "Tempered Glass," a book that my cousin wrote. It's a love story set in England during the turn of the century (1900s). Not really my thing, but I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised - plus, I had no idea that my cousin loved writing; it's something I never realized we had in common. Smile

I'm currently reading a Science Fiction novel called "Moonrise" by someone named Ben Bova.  It's about the exact issues that have been coming up between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney about setting up a base on the Moon.  I LOVE it; I feel he did a really great job with it and it's an issue I find very interesting.
One thing I think he really well with is that the "heroes" are anything but - they're very, very human and they're "far from angels."  I felt he added realism to it that way.

I may have to pick that one up. It sounds interesting.
