How do I be one? I don't mean going to Starbucks and ordering those ridiculous paragraph long coffees.

I mean at home. I have a french press, a coffee grinder. I supposed I would need to buy various beans (then move onto the expensive stuff). As well as flavored syrups?? And fancy lil cups? An espresso machine is too much $$$ for me.

But seriously, any coffee lovers here as well?

I've always loved the aroma of coffee but have never drank it.

I like the smell of it too...as long as it isn't doubled up to be extra strong... but if I drink it, it has to be LOADED with cream or milk.. and lots of sugar or sweetener...

Cappuccino is probably my favorite because of how sweet it is and yummy...

Frappuccinos are my 2nd favorite...

Espresso can be good but I have to take it like a shot of alcohol because it's so strong and bitter!  It perks me up though no doubt!

Growing up in a house with an avid coffee drinker (my dad) kind of ruined the whole traditional coffee thing for me.  He would make it extra black and it was so strong it smelled up the entire 3500 square foot house at 2:30am.  He would drink it straight and as black as it could be.  It was disgusting.  I remember waking up at 2:30am and hating him for it because I had to wake up at 5:30 to get ready for school, (dang hour long bus rides) and sometimes I wasn't able to get back to sleep.  He used to tell me to have some coffee with him and just stay up.  I felt like vomiting...

I drink black coffee only.  It has to be a certain measure to suit my taste, since I live alone I use the following:  4 full scoops for 6 cups (half a pot).  Normally I only use Folgers Special Roast or House Blend.

Also, I will not drink coffee if it has sat on the burner for more than 15 mintues.  I can discern even the slightest burnt taste.  I usually will pour my first cup and turn the pot off immediately then pour a second cup from the pot 25 mintues later, it's still very warm.

I don't care for Starbucks ground coffee (too strong), but the Dunkin' Donuts blend is very nice.

A friend of mine gave me Vanilla Nut Cream (Millhouse) ground coffee for Christmas (I just saw him yesterday since 12/19/11). He said its not a big deal, but Merry Christmas. I was psyched...told him about how I wanted to try new coffees and that was really impeccable timing.

So, we'll see how that tastes. I forgot about it until I read this post.

Anyway...flavored ground coffee: any recommendations?
