In Your Dreams has had time to sink in. I wonder what people think about it now.

I feel like some songs were written just to be written...like "Cheaper than Free" and the title track. But overall I love it. I think "Moonlight" and "Italian Summer" are utterly brilliant.
In a timeless search... for a love that might work...

I would ssy 3rd best... Cheaper Than Free, In Your Dreams and You May Be The One are not favs of mine.. unfortunately IYD has more songs that I don't like than Bella Donna, Wild Heart, RAL, Street Angel and TISL... it beats TOSOTM though... and I would choose it over TISL and Street Angel... This is the order of my favorite albums: The Wild Heart - I like every single song Bella Donna - I like every single song In Your Dreams - 3 songs I don't like but the others make up for it! Rock A Little - 2 songs I don't care for Trouble In Shangri-La - 2 songs I don't care for Street Angel - 2 songs I don't care for The Other Side Of The Mirror - 4 or 5 songs I don't care for

I voted Second Best. Bella Donna is just perfect. This album is totally solid and flows like a river, but is full of surprises. Her voice is excellent.

I voted best album ever although it was close because I like every song on this album as well as Rock A Little. 1) In Your Dreams - although Cheaper Than Free isn't one I would listen to repeatedly, I can say that I don't not like it which is better than some songs on other albums. 2) Rock A Little - may tie for best album ever. I used to hate the title track but love it now that I'm older. 3) Wild Heart - love every song BUT Beauty and the Beast. Sorry, just feel it's too self-indulgent and a tad contrived on the melodramatic side. But every other song I adore. 4 & 5) Tie between OSOTM and TISL. 2 songs i don't care for on each album. 6) Bella Donna - I love most of it but it is not the masterpiece everyone else seems to worship it for. I know I'm in the minority on this though. 7) Street Angel - I know I'm also in the minority in saying I think this album is better than the trash some say it is. Some of the songs I think are brilliant yet about an equal amount of them I think should have been thrown away.

The Wild Heart in my opinion is in third place. However, I have a problems with that album. Yes, it's passionate and contains great work, but the album doesn't flow, it's dated and it contains I Will Run To You, which is definitely a Tom Petty throwaway. I would of much preferred Golden Braid or something deeper than that song. In my opinion, The Wild Heart could of been truly great, but she played it too safe. And yes, it's very self-indulgent, but not as self indulgent as some of her latter albums.

Here's my list: 1. The Wild Heart - As a kid, Stand Back was THE song of my childhood. It really has a special place in my heart. Love all songs. 2. Bella Donna - Discovered this after The Wild Heart. Edge of Seventeen. Nuff said. Love all songs. 3. The Otherside of the Mirror - This album was really hard to get into at first, but it is now one of my favorites. I only dislike two songs from this album. 4. Trouble in Shangri-La - Again, this album came out during one of the best times in my life: Art School. The first 4 tracks must be played in succession. I don't like 3 songs from this album. 5. In Your Dreams - Its half and half. 6. Street Angel - Again, half and half, but more dated. 7. Rock A Little - Highly dated, I only like 4 songs on this album.

I think You May Be The One was supposed to be the ballad but I hate it so much.... Italian Summer (one of my favs on the album) is close to being a ballad but it's like a vacation song lol "It's so beautiful here... wish you could see it. Since you can't, I will paint a mental picture for you..."

I find Italian Summer to be so atrocious. I feel like she doesn't sing it, more like talks it drawing out the pronunciation of certain parts.

That ending note is amazing though and something not heard from Stevie in so long... it was really refreshing to hear it for the first time... i remember being pumped up for that song after seeing the trailer... it ended up being not as good as I was hoping but it is still one of my favorites on the album.. it is just very mood setting.. all building up to that last note...

I agree. Gold & Braid, Julia, or All The Beautiful Worlds should have been on there over I Will Run To You. Just for clarification, I only think B&B is self-indulgent. The rest of the album I adore.

OMG I forgot Beautiful Worlds. That should of been added plus Gold N Braid. Gold N Braid was such a unique creation. It rocked but was soo feminine.

I am surprised Gold & Braid didn't make it onto TISL or something... she did it live in '98 and could still sing it great...
