Traditionally, Independents split the Republican vote. Remember Ross Perot?
I can see where you're coming from there, but
for whatever it's worth, they once asked Trump
if he was a Democrat or a Republican and he didn't
actully answer the question - he said, "Well, the
economy tends to do better under the Democrats -
it shouldn't BE that way, ALL the formulas and
everything that's known about business says it should
be the opposite - but that's the way it seems to actually
work out."
Interesting that the
only criteria on his mind was the economy.
I still wonder if it might hurt Obama more than the Republican candidate.
Obama's in BIG trouble, many people who voted for him last time don't intend to this time, and so I think maybe he needs every vote he can get.
If Trump takes enough votes away from certain crucial states, causing Obama to lose the electoral votes there - because Trump heavily campaigned in those states - that would tip the election in favor of the Republican candidate and -
the next President's a Republican.
