When you're feeling all alone
And there's no one on the phone
When your world's falling apart
And you’re dying of a broken heart

You turn your White Winged Dove
Where you always feel the love
Whose music touches your soul
When your life seems out of control

In the depths of despair you see the light
As you hear her sing of a bird in flight
Her healing is magical and you wonder if she knows
How powerful she is and how she helps you grow

The touch of a Goddess which few understand
Some of us lucky enough to feel that soft hand
In her beautiful chiffon, velvet, and lace
She inspires me with her elegance and grace

My Preistess of everything
How I love to hear her sing
He words and music keep me alive
Thanks to you Stevie, I will survive.

When there's Trouble in Shangri-La
You search deep within your soul to find your inner Bella Donna
When your Wild heart summons you to The Other Side of the Mirror
You transcend all Timespace and realize you are an Enchanted, sweet Street Angel who really just wants to Rock a Little.

Lovely poems, everyone Smile

I wrote these last night when I wasn't in the best of moods... I started out wanting to write a whole poem just about Stevie, but other stuff started coming out. So they're not fully about Stevie, but they're completely inspired by her.

---

I’m in love with an illusion
Lost forever in the past
And I try to carve reality
Out of something that cannot last

Laughter around me suffocates
So I look up toward a star
It comforts me for quite some time
But to them I’m just bizarre

The star, it shines so brightly
But not all can see its glow
And soon it slowly slips away
And they will never know

They will never know the beauty
That this star can show us all
So they tear at my dreams,
   Or so it seems
Have I created my own fall?

And now I, too, begin my journey
Fade away out to sea
Illusions dissolved,
No problems resolved
This is how it will be.

---

My love lies in a time machine
Trapped by happenstance
Peering through abandoned windows
I hope to catch a glance

Though vision blurred and crippled,
I manage to paint a dream
I cling with all my strength and hope,
But fantasies are not what they seem

Imagination eats away
Reality’s harder every day.

In 1983 I sent Stevie a gift with the following poem attached in the card.
I can't remember all of it but it went something like below. (I was only 12 years old when I wrote it)

I was thrilled when I got a response back on her letterhead. Rebbecca Alvarez also included a letter (on SN stationary) saying that she had personally delivered my gift to Stevie and had enclosed her personal thank you from Stevie.

Stevie,

I have a fantasy about Leather and Lace
and you inspire it by the look upon your face

The gleam in your eyes when you sing my favorite songs
They take you on a journey and I'd like to come along

A letter from a mere fan just does not seem to be enough
So I wrote you this poem and sign it with love...

I didn't realize you were only 12 when you first saw Stevie. Does that mean you were only 13 when you attended that private party in 1984?  Confused

Nice poems everybody, they're fun to read Smile

I wrote a song called "Dance, Gypsy, Dance" about 2 months ago.
Since it's a song, it's terribly simple (my poetry is usually a lot "fancier"). Anywho, hope you like it.

Looking through the glass and there she was
Singing to the stars above
Gypsy, sings a wonderful song
She sings her songs, all night long

Fascinating like none other
Sharp as a knife yet soft like a feather
Your soul haunts me all the time
and your words constantly plague my mind

Dance, Gypsy, Dance,
and I'll get lost in your trance
Sing, Gypsy, Sing,
and I'll never stop listening

I don't know what it s about you
That attracts me so much to you
But I hope one day we can meet
and we can get to speak
but until then...

Dance, Gypsy, Dance,
and I'll get lost in your trance
Sing, Gypsy, Sing,
and I'll never stop listening
