HELLO all - - - I had a hazy moment this morning, thinking that I was a "poet" - so I wrote a silly poem about Stevie - it's not exactly supposed to be a work of art - just a fun little thing I wrote when I had nothing better to do! ANY-way it's called "5/25/63" ('cause that's the date it's supposed to take place) - so here it is, ENJOY! 5/25/63 Girl in Algebra Class, it's Period Three - where is she really supposed to be? Last period was okay, they learned about Kennedy. "That really got me to think a lot," she admits to herself, "but they somehow forgot to mention he's HOT!" (x + 3y)/2z = 33 + x, what is y? she writes as a note - while musing, "I'd rather be on a boat. . . ." She smiles as a boy walks by, holding a boy's-room key. "PSSST - what was his name?" "I think it was, 'Lindsey!'" "X + 2D = 23, what is D?" she writes, "Well, this is nice, but I guess it's just not my scene..." She looks out the window - and begins to dream. . . .

There are two kinds of light--the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. - James Thurber The statute of limitations on your childhood traumas have expired--- get over it! It is an old, ironic habit of human beings to run faster when we have lost our way.

Interesting. I think you could cut it all out except for the last few lines that lead up to "And then she begins to dream". That, I think, would be very "Stevie Nicks"...

"His songs were soft and tender, sometimes"-I agree Stevie... "Now the wind is high and the rain is heavy and the water is rising in the levee...Still I think of her when the sun goes down, It never goes away but it all works out" T.P. "It will all work out"

Stevie...The poet in our hearts.
Just like Rhiannon... Your presence rings like a bell through the night, Your lyrics calming the storm inside of me, ...when I rock a little... and nothing else will.
Your voice echoes inside my head, Your words never leaving me, Your lyrics always haunting me, like a ghost... always with me, My strength is in your words... when sometimes It's a bitch.
Your beauty blooms eternal, Like the timeless face of a Rock N' Roll woman, Your smokey eyes hold me in a trance, Like and addiction... ...You keep me hooked. xx

In 1983 I sent Stevie a gift with the following poem attached in the card. I can't remember all of it but it went something like below. (I was only 12 years old when I wrote it) I was thrilled when I got a response back on her letterhead. Rebbecca Alvarez also included a letter (on SN stationary) saying that she had personally delivered my gift to Stevie and had enclosed her personal thank you from Stevie. Stevie,
I have a fantasy about Leather and Lace and you inspire it by the look upon your face
The gleam in your eyes when you sing my favorite songs They take you on a journey and I'd like to come along
A letter from a mere fan just does not seem to be enough So I wrote you this poem and sign it with love.........

When you're feeling all alone And there's no one on the phone When your world's falling apart And you’re dying of a broken heart
You turn to your White Winged Dove Where you always feel the love Whose music touches your soul When your life seems out of control
In the depths of despair you see the light As you hear her sing of a bird in flight Her healing is magical and you wonder if she knows How powerful she is and how she helps you grow
The touch of a Goddess which few understand Some of us lucky enough to feel that soft hand In her beautiful chiffon, velvet, and lace She inspires me with her elegance and grace
My Preistess of everything How I love to hear her sing He words and music keep me alive Thanks to you Stevie, I will survive.
When there's Trouble in Shangri-La You search deep within your soul to find your inner Bella Donna When your Wild heart summons you to The Other Side of the Mirror You transcend all Timespace and realize you are an Enchanted, Sweet Street Angel who really just wants to Rock a Little.

Some of us will... Some of us will never see the light Some of us will only say, Well, I don't want to fight about it And then one day, Well, you really fall in love... Mirror, Mirror
