I know this isn't a "Stevie" blooper, but Sharon mentioned once on her page from The Nicks Fix that during a performance once she was  walking across the stage and tripped over a wire, as she said, "a la Dick Van Dyke." Now I love Sharon to pieces but lemme tell you I would love to have seen THAT!  Whistle

The first concert for The Wild Heart tour. I don't have the whole show -just the first seven songs. I know it was during a tremendously painful and overwhelmingly busy time for her and her drug and alcohol abuse had greatly started increasing--but it is so obvious for the first song--GDW--she is wasted! She is known to ad lib some to her songs and I love it when she does that but when she started Dreams--she went.."So hear I go again.....[pause pause pause} I say I want my freedom {pause pause} Well who I am to keep you down," and then seems to get back to the lyrics. It seems to me it was not a deliberate ab lib there but she just lost the words for a minute and struggled to get back on couse. But in could have been in reference to her marriage to Kim ending before she left for that tour. Then after she finished another song she says, "I would tell you the next song but I don't know what it is," and I Need To Know starts playing. After a very touching Stand Back where she grabs a little girl from the audience and swings her around and then says, "Now I have to give her back, right?" And hands the little girl back, she says, "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all and turns to the band who tell her the next song and she says, "Oh God, that song NOW!" And goes into a very touching Beauty and the Beast-one of my favorite performances of that song ever! But it's so obvious she is completely wasted and so changed from the Bella Donna show so much and it seems she does know the song list at all.

But like I said, I love that show. It was painful to see her in that much pain and that ripped but like I said, she was coming off of some very painful experiences and exhausting schedule between FM and her solo work. I don't know how she did it--hence the alcohol and coke I guess.

Mirage Live video...before "Gypsy" she is off somewhere .... doing something... snort
Song begins...where is Stevie????
Miss N comes scurrying up to the mic to start the song.
That is also one of my FAV outfits!  LOVE IT.

And she runs... in those boots. I would've broken my neck.

I have the video from the Tango tour on VHS where she messes up Seven Wonder's, it a hoot, I think there is another show where during the RAL tour (I think) where she sings the first verse of GDW twice.  I think she also did the same with Stand Back on one of the Street Angel tour tapes I have.

From the professional videos, There are different shots during the concert where you can tell she's actually singing a different song but they are using that footage and in the Dance video the first thing that caught my eye was that during Everywhere (I'm pretty sure its that song) she's using her black tamborine and they cut to a shot where she has the white one in her hand.

Yah, I have some Stevie boots. I had them on when I went to her concert (CV) in Cleveland. I had to park so far away. It was so hard walking that far in them and then I hear "Stand Back"; the concert had started! I started to run in them, OMG, that was so hard and I thought to myself, "How in the heck does Stevie dance in these things and not fall on her ass!?"

Hmmm when Stevie sang with Tom Petty on his tour.  nod When everyone was leaving the stage, Stevie tripped on some cords but.. the way she so gracefully smiled and gave a little bow you would have never notice if you had not been looking at that time. Thumbs Up

I say this all the time, but I love the one from the 2007 Albuquerque SB: "It's called Christian - CHRISTIAN Visions! Oh my God!" Laugh

That would be my favorite.

SA tour in Canandaigua ,New York during Docklands ~4th song I think it was ,she's like 2 verses in or so ,and totally tripped on words and forgot~ it was all messed up~ the whole band just stopped and decided to start over from the beginning~!!! That was pretty funny but I think she was a little embarrassed~ oh well it happens~ and she's real! I can't imagine trying to remember all the words every night for that many years~

One of the funniest things I ever read she did was when she and Lindsey were living with Keith Olson before they joined FM.  Keith wrote about this over on the Penguin and I almost peed in in pants when I read it.  Keith explained he had to go out of town and so Stevie gets up at 5AM to drive him and some other guy to the train station in her bathrobe and I think he said heeled slippers.  Keith mentions the guy with him made some comment about Stevie being flacky or something and he'd be lucky if he ever sees his car again.  She drops them off and drives back to Keith's house and goes back to bed. But....she doesn't put the car in gear and/or doesn't put the brake on and they live on a big hill!!!!!!!  The car rolls down the hill and smashes into somebody's house.  It's like something out of I Love Lucy.  In this case I love Stevie.  Keith gets a message from Lindsey saying something happened to his car, but nobody got hurt. So don't worry.  Keith said she still laughs about it.  Can you just picture her at 5am in her bathrobe parking the car and going back to bed with it rolling away.  Priceless.

Here's a few more that I remembered:

SYW Tour:  I think it was Raleigh or Jones Beach.  They have technical difficulties at the beginning of the show with this loud buzz that won't go away.  And she says something like we all like a good buzz now and again.   Can't remember exactly .  It's on my back up drive but it was funny and the crowd loved it.

OTSM Tour:  She got pissed off at the security people for keeping people back and says "don't f___k with my people....

Crystal Visions Tour:  She tripped at the Ontario show while dancing in front of Jana on Edge.  The next night she joked about it and said something like no matter how hard they tried, they could not lift me up.  At least she laughs at herself.

CV - Atlantic City 07 - She changes the end of Rhiannon and then tells everybody she went back to 1977 for a minute.  It was clear she did.  It was the wild Stevie for a moment.

Arizona Heart Benefit 2000:  She's introducing the next song which she said she and Lindsey picked out together. Then she says no it was really just Lindsey who picked out the song. Then she says they've never done the song before.  Then she says well we did many years ago but not on stage before.  Then she says well not without a full on band.  I have the video and Lindz is thinking can she dig a bigger hole. It was hysterical.  The song was Gypsy and it was terrific done acoustically.

Tom Petty tour 06 - First show of the tour (Charlotte I think), she completely forgets the words to her part of SDMHA, but does apologize and says that she loves Tom so much and she was just so nervous even though she's done the song for 15 years.  At least she's honest!!!!

And can I just say the Christian Visions is the absolute best.  I have a bootleg of the whole show and she's is just hysterical.  She could not believe it came out of her mouth and said as much. It was priceless.

For all the RAL tour experts, didn't she literally fall off the stage at at least one show maybe two.  She was so high on coke at that point, she probably never knew she fell.

And that's why we all love her so much.  She is so real, not fake.  You can relate to her.  And she's soooo, sooo funny.   "Don't ever change, Sara."

I second that. Right on and well said!

"People seem to think I live my life in my "Stevie garb" which isn't true at all. For a few years, in my opinion, the whole "Bella Donna"/witch woman thing got way out of hand with fans. I never dreamed they'd take an image I created for my career so seriously. I love that stuff - the fairy tales, magic and that kind of thing. And even though I'm grateful that its a timeless image, I think its still, by some, taken entirely too seriously." - S.L.N, 2002
